GI Hub is now Secretariat of the CCRI Legacy Programme
8 December 2023
The Global Infrastructure Hub (GI Hub) has formally stepped into the role of Secretariat for the CCRI Legacy Programme. This follows the announcement earlier this year that the Coalition for Climate Resilient Investment (CCRI) would cease to operate and its portfolio of government and investor-focused climate tools, solutions, and financial instruments would be transferred to selected not-for-profit partners.
The GI Hub extends its gratitude to the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) for its ongoing commitment to the future of CCRI through the support of the CCRI Legacy Programme and future workstreams.
CCRI began as a broad-based, global coalition to mainstream climate risks in investment decisionmaking. It was launched formally at the UN Climate Action Summit in 2019 with the UK Government, the World Economic Forum, and WTW spearheading the initiative.
The GI Hub was a long-time partner and supporter of CCRI. As Secretariat of the Legacy Programme, the GI Hub will collaborate with and support other partners to continue delivering programme work.
“The CCRI Legacy Programme is a source of pioneering tools and metrics that support governments and investors, helping them direct funding toward climate resilience,” said GI Hub Chief Content Officer Henri Blas. “We’re very pleased to be collaborating with the other programme partners to ensure this important work is advanced.”
Among the programs being continued by the CCRI Legacy Program are the Systemic Resilience Metrics program, which aims to demonstrate the positive impacts of integrating physical climate risks in decisionmaking, the Physical Climate Risk Assessment Methodology, and Jamaica’s National Investment Prioritisation Tool.
