The global competition to accelerate the infrastructure industry has entered the next stage with assessment of all InfraChallenge applications now complete.
We received a high volume of applications from over 30 countries with an exciting range of digital solutions for emerging infrastructure issues. Technologies included Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning, data analytics, drones, mobile apps, automation, predictive technology, Internet of Things, smart systems, sensors, voice activation, face recognition, cloud platforms and computer vision.
Today we are pleased to reveal the Top 20 teams, who will be proceeding to eight weeks of mentoring with an innovation or infrastructure expert to help further develop their entries. Each team will then re-submit their application to vie for a place in the Top 10.
The timeline for the remaining stages of InfraChallenge has been impacted by the evolving global situation in relation to COVID-19 (coronavirus). This means that the eight-week mentoring program for all Top 20 teams will now commence in April, Top 10 finalists will be announced in July, and the final event will take place in September.
The winning team will receive support from InfraChallenge partners MIT Solve to scale their digital solution. The winner will also receive exposure to the G20’s Infrastructure Working Group, ongoing support from the GI Hub and partners, and a funding package of AUD$50,000 to develop their solution to the next stage.
The Global Infrastructure Hub congratulates the Top 20 teams and thanks everyone who entered for the high quality of their applications.
Our twice-monthly newsletter shares the latest news from across the infrastructure ecosystem, and notifies you of new initiatives and tools from the GI Hub.
