Finance ministry and central bank officials at the February Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meeting in Peru called for closer collaboration with the Global Infrastructure Hub (the GI Hub) at a session focussed on strengthening public policy in the Asia-Pacific region.
Speaking at the APEC Finance and Central Bank Deputies meeting in Lima, the GI Hub welcomed APEC’s plans to launch a public-private partnership (PPP) Knowledge Portal. It outlined how regional governments could roll out infrastructure projects faster and more cost effectively by embracing GI Hub tools and resources as early adopters.
The GI Hub’s guidance on leading infrastructure practices, online community for procurement officials, and global pipeline of investment-ready infrastructure projects are opportunities to achieve and enhance APEC’s PPP Knowledge Portal. Following the session, the Peruvian Presidency recommended to the APEC Summit that regional economies should ‘harness the potential of the Global Infrastructure Hub.
