Australian infrastructure roundtable hosts the Lord Mayor of the City of London
This week the Australian British Chamber of Commerce (ABCC), the GI Hub and KPMG co-hosted an intimate infrastructure roundtable with the Lord Mayor of the City of London, Alderman Nicholas Lyons at KPMG’s head office in Sydney, Australia.
During his year as Lord Mayor, Alderman Lyons will champion ‘Financing our Future’, promoting a resilient, resourceful, and responsible city, deploying capital and expertise to supercharge economic growth nationwide, and grow London’s global competitiveness.
In attendance at the breakfast on Monday 27 February 2023 were senior Australian private sector participants, industry associations, think tanks, government, and infrastructure agencies. The roundtable provided a platform for attendees to discuss shared infrastructure issues and priorities and to identify opportunities and areas for collaboration.
GI Hub’s Chief Content Officer, Henri Blas co-hosted the roundtable and shared recent insights on the GI Hub’s G20’s activities on sustainable infrastructure and infrastructure investment. The discussion throughout the roundtable focused on the following topics:
- Scaling up sustainable infrastructure investment and the role of taxonomies and standards
- Alternative funding and financing instruments
- Developing a pipeline of bankable infrastructure projects.
We would like to thank the Lord Mayor for sharing valuable insights and the ABCC for the opportunity to co-host this roundtable.
The GI Hub strongly believes in the importance and value of collaboration across the infrastructure community to achieve common goals for better quality infrastructure.
