G20 Infrastructure Working Group meeting highlights progress on G20 priorities
The G20 Infrastructure Working Group met in Bali, Indonesia 9–10 June 2022.
The meetings included review of the IWG’s ongoing work on its four priorities under the Indonesian G20 Presidency:
- Scaling up sustainable infrastructure investment by leveraging private sector participation
- Enhancing social inclusion and addressing subnational disparities
- Increasing digital and InfraTech investments
- Advancing transformative infrastructure post-COVID-19.
The GI Hub presented our report on Infrastructure Transition Pathways, which explores infrastructure transition pathways to achieve global climate targets and sustainable development goals. We also presented our progress on new infrastructure technology (InfraTech) work, including the G20 Blueprint for Scaling Up InfraTech Financing and Development and a new stocktake of InfraTech use cases. Also in support of the IWG’s priorities, this month we will hold the next webinar in our series New Deals: Funding solutions for the future of infrastructure. This session on ‘Enhancing social inclusion and addressing subnational disparities’ is presented in collaboration with the G20 and International Finance Corporation (IFC), and will take place on 28 June. Registration is open to all.
The GI Hub will publish our work for the G20 as it is finalised. To be notified when Infrastructure Transition Pathways report and InfraTech blueprint and case studies are available, sign up for our newsletter.
