The GI Hub has now signed a consultancy contract for the development of a Concession Management Tool, following a competitive tender. The tool, expected to be delivered by the end of 2017, will provide practical guidance that can be used by government teams around the world and aims to identify leading practices related to public-private partnership (PPP) concession management, as well as addressing the common challenges which may arise throughout the construction and operations phases.
GI Hub has engaged Turner & Townsend, an independent professional services company which plays a leading role in the PPP market across six continents.
As more PPP projects around the world are in construction and operations phases, there are leading practices and lessons to be built upon to help support successful concession management in PPPs. This engagement will develop a guidance tool informed by systematic research and analysis of a substantial sample of around 250 projects from the worldwide population of PPP projects which have reached financial close between 2005 and 2015.
