InfraChallenge 2021 invites applicants from around the world to pitch their solutions for building and maintaining better, more resilient infrastructure
InfraChallenge is looking for practical and scalable tech-based ideas for building and maintaining better, more resilient infrastructure. Why? Resilient infrastructure lasts longer, carries lower whole-of-life costs, and often enhances sustainability and social value.
This year InfraChallenge is part of the 2021 Italian G20 Presidency infrastructure agenda, supporting the Presidency’s aim to promote quality infrastructure investment and transformative infrastructure responses, both to the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond the current crisis.
Organised by the Global Infrastructure Hub (GI Hub) and supported by the Italian G20 Presidency, the annual InfraChallenge competition is open to all industries across the globe.
Applicants who participate in InfraChallenge 2021 will:
- pitch innovative solutions that improve the quality and resilience of new and/or existing infrastructure
In InfraChallenge 2020, we received applications ranging from artificial intelligence that could supercharge infrastructure design to drone technology for infrastructure maintenance and solutions for smart city urban planning. - share their ideas with a global audience
Applicants who make it to the Top 20 and beyond are showcased by the GI Hub and its partners through videos, news articles and more. - receive mentoring from industry experts
Applicants who make it to the Top 20 will receive mentoring from innovation and infrastructure experts to prepare their solution for a place in the Top 10. - have the opportunity to win the top prize
The winner of InfraChallenge 2021 will receive an AU$50,000 funding package to help implement their solution, as well as other prizes and support.
Meeting the challenges and opportunities of the future requires government and industry to boldly embrace innovation across the infrastructure lifecycle. This is the path to ensuring that existing and new infrastructure creates lasting social and economic value for everyone and empowers future generations.
Do you have a tech-based idea that could create a more resilient and quality-focused infrastructure ecosystem for the future? The GI Hub looks forward to hearing about your solution for a better infrastructure future.
