Today the GI Hub announces that our Chief Public Affairs & Communications Officer and G20 Deputy, Katharina Surikow, will soon step down from her role.
Katharina joined the GI Hub seven years ago. In progressively responsible roles, she contributed to improvements in our governance and operational and impact reporting before taking on an executive role as Head of External Relations. In that role and her current role of Chief Public Affairs & Communications Officer and G20 Deputy, Katharina was a driving force behind exponential growth in the GI Hub’s profile, both at the G20 and across the broader infrastructure ecosystem. She also helped craft a new mission for the organisation and played a leading role in transforming the organisational culture.
To see the Hub’s work endorsed by G20 Ministers and Leaders is incredible, and I’ve had the best time helping get the message out to the world and forge partnerships to increase our impact. From being relatively unknown, the GI Hub has become a sought-after source of knowledge and insights, headlining events and advising governments.” – Katharina Surikow
Leading our engagement, partnership, events, digital, and marketing and communication activities, Katharina set and achieved an ambitious target to raise awareness of our work and engagement with our organisation across the public and private sectors. She also led the charge in expanding the organisation’s reach to new audiences through high-quality events and communications.
Katharina will transition out of her role at the end of 2023. As we announced last week, this is also a period of transition for our former CEO Marie Lam-Frendo, who stepped down from her role as CEO in early December as her term concluded. The GI Hub continues under the leadership of Srima McQuillan as Acting CEO and Chief Content Officer Henri Blas.
