The GI Hub has delivered a regional two day PPP workshop in Abuja, Nigeria, from 16 to 17 October, 2018. The workshop was opened by Nigeria’s Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, and delivered by the GI Hub in cooperation with Nigeria’s Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission and global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright.
Key PPP practitioners were in attendance from several governments in the region representing Cote d’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Namibia, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa and Uganda.
The workshop focused primarily on effective risk allocation in PPPs, project preparation and good contract management through construction and operations. The workshop also provided detailed introductions to the GI Hub’s PPP Risk Allocation Tool and PPP Contract Management Tool, as well as including country presentations and discussion on other key GI Hub initiatives, including the GI Hub’s Project Pipeline and the GI Hub’s work on developing a reference tool on inclusive infrastructure.
