Government officials from the Philippines visited the GI Hub today in Sydney to hear about the Hub’s work, and to discuss Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) and the role they can play in delivering infrastructure.
The Philippines party included Deputy Director General of the Philippines Civil Aviation Authority Captain Manuel Tamayo, Assistant Secretary in the Department of Transport Airene Robinson, and key staff from the Philippines Public-Private Partnership Center, Feroisa Concordia and Jeff Manalo.
The officials talked about the Philippines Government’s infrastructure push, through its Build, Build, Build campaign, the Government’s PPP program, and the risk allocation work being done currently for PPP projects.
The meeting included discussion on the GI Hub’s tools, and how they could assist the infrastructure push in the Philippines, including:
- The newly-launched Project Pipeline, designed to match private investors with government infrastructure projects,
- Allocating Risks in PPPs,
- Upcoming projects: Global Infrastructure Outlook, InfraCompass, and practical guidelines for project authorities to help concession management of PPPs.
