Last week, the GI Hub attended the third G20 Infrastructure Working Group (IWG) meeting under the Indian G20 Presidency, held 26–28 June in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand.
Delegates discussed progress on the workstreams and deliverables outlined in the G20’s 2023 Infrastructure Agenda. The GI Hub presented updates on progress related to the G20/GI Hub Framework on How to Best Leverage Private Sector Participation to Scale Up Sustainable Infrastructure Investment (Framework), our work on infrastructure taxonomies, and the upcoming annual update of the GI Hub InfraTracker of public investment in infrastructure.
The GI Hub updates and deliverables received positive comments and helpful feedback from the delegates. In the case of the InfraTracker, G20 country validation of the data on investment helps assure the accuracy of the tool, which is used by governments to compare approaches to infrastructure spending and the outcomes being targeted by other governments, and which provides the private sector with greater visibility of the plans underpinning public investment in infrastructure.
The GI Hub was represented at the IWG by our Head of External Relations Katharina Surikow and our Chief Content Officer Henri Blas.
