Overview
The project is initiated under Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP) initiatives and is part of the Logistical and Land port infrastructure development program. Saudi Customs Authority as part of the establishing PMO, developed a prototype concept design to be deployed on all land ports in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This project is for processing of Cargo only and is in design phase which was awarded under competitive bidding for approx. SAR 12M. Capital cost of construction is being worked out as the availability of design documents. Construction of the project shall be initiated in the near future; funding for the same is being sourced. Different sources including private funding are being explored in addition to the public funding.
Buildings area of the Al Batha land port prototype is approximately 35 thousand sqm and it is proposed to be implemented in the vicinity of the existing land port and therefore is a greenfield.
Timeline
Design for the project was awarded in Jan-2020 and is forecasted to complete in the month of Dec-20. Construction, Testing and Commissioning duration is planned for 3 years after securing the funding.
