The concept of inclusive design means designing and building places that everyone regardless of disability, age, gender, sexual orientation, race or faith can enjoy confidently and independently with choice and dignity. This Inclusive Design Strategy sets out the Legacy Corporation s high level approach to achieving this objective. The Inclusive Design Strategy will inform the Legacy Corporation s work through the first phase of planning, design and development. Once phase one is further advanced the Legacy Corporation will evaluate the approach and modify the strategy to reflect any changes in good practice. Setting out the Legacy Corporation s commitments within this strategy, enables the principles of inclusive design to inform the procurement of developers and contractors and make expectations clear to the operators of the legacy venues. This strategy will also support and inform the planning applications that will set out the long term vision for the development of sustainable communities within Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
