This paper "Pooling of Institutional Investors Capital - Selected Case Studies in unlisted equity infrastructure" aims to provide clarity on some of the issues associated with the evolving field of infrastructure investment and highlights some of the new models that are being used to facilitate the flow of financing. It firstly looks at the evolution of private institutional investment in infrastructure and examines how the market has developed.
The second part of the paper introduces the new initiatives that have developed in response to the drawbacks and early inefficiencies, highlighting specific case studies of co-investment platforms, government-led initiatives and revised unlisted infrastructure funds that are providing opportunities for institutional investors interested in investing in unlisted equity infrastructure assets.
