This paper aims to discuss two main issues with the impacts of infrastructure in development, the first important issue is the proper identification of the causal effectiveness of infrastructure in reducing poverty. The second issue is to adopt the broader framework to evaluate the role of infrastructure in reducing poverty because, obviously, infrastructure cannot exist in isolation. All the micro studies conducted so far have focused on the nexus between infrastructure and certain types of poverty outcomes such as income, poverty, health, education, and other individual socio-economic outcomes.
